How to order

Having your own pet portrait commissioned could not be easier - just follow the steps below.

  • Firstly, contact Louise by email, explaining what type & breed of pet(s) you would like to be drawn, how many to be featured in the portrait, the size you would prefer, and if there is a specific deadline you would like the work completed by.
  • Louise will get back to you as soon as possible, and ask for photographs to be sent for viewing. If you are able to take new pictures, please take a look at the Photography tips page. Good quality, clear photographs make all the difference in achieving a finely detailed portrait.
  • If the photographs are suitable to be worked from, Louise will approve them and send you a final quotation, along with an estimated completion date. If you would like the work to be carried out, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required, sent either by Paypal, cheque or postal order.
  • Once the deposit has cleared, the time will be allocated in Louise's schedule. When the work has been started it may be possible to provide you with work-in-progress updates.
  • When your portrait is complete, you will be sent a small watermarked photograph to approve by email. Only if you are 100% happy and would like to purchase the portrait, the rest of the payment can be made (you are under no obligation to pay the remainder unless totally satisfied). Once this payment has cleared, the portrait (and any non-digital reference photos) will be sent via Special Delivery.
NB. The portrait will be signed and sprayed with artist fixative. It is your responsibility to frame the artwork as soon as possible behind glass to keep it in tip-top condition.

Please note: Louise retains the right to reproduce any material for advertising purposes, whether this be online or in print.  If you specifically do not want the commissioned work to be featured in any of Louise's advertising, this must be agreed prior to the portrait being completed.
